RHIs Announced

Initially these will be introduced in July 2011 for non-domestic installations. At the same time a ‘Premium’ payment will be introduced for up to 25,000 domestic installations.

Technologies included and payments per installation; Solar Thermal – £300, Air source heat pump – £850, Biomass boiler – £950, Ground source heat pump – £1250. The tariff payments for domestic installations will be brought in with the ‘Green Deal’ in 2012. Domestic tariff rates will be set later this year. We know that tariffs will be paid for 20 years on eligible installations made since July 2009. Payments for non-domestic tariffs are to be paid on each kwh of heat produced from July 2011.
