R A Brown proudly sponsored the award category, Best Sustainable Project and presented the winner award to Hootz House, Pensthorpe Natural Park.
Richard said “the winner has shown the judges, how they have created an adventure project, Hootz House in the heart of their nature and conservation park, proving you can make improvements with sustainable choices.
Every aspect of the project demonstrates sustainability. The heating is provided by using a heat pump from the lake, distributing heat to buildings, with the play equipment being made from wood, and a floor make of recycled tyres. LED lighting has been installed and rainwater is used to flush the toilets to enhance the projects sustainability, even the café recycles all its waste.
Pensthorpe Natural Park is to be commended for being loyal to its company ethos of being sustainable in all areas, by promoting sustainability to its visitors and leading by example”
