Case Study

Barn Conversion, ASHP cascade system

The customer was converting a Barn on their land into an additional home. The barn had a beautiful feature which the customer wished to keep, which was a solid flint wall, because this wall was not heavily insulated there were large heat losses, the property also had vaulted ceilings.

To cover the energy losses a cascade system of 2 x NIBE F2040 12kW was required to produce the heat requirement.

Limited space had been left for a plant room, there was an area of 750cm x 750cm for an airing cupboard. Due to the height of the ceilings, R A Brown built in extra supports to be able to stack buffer above hot water cylinder within the limited space.

Due to the location of the property the customer had to arrange for a new water main to the property, this required special permission from a neighbouring farmers land to enable the water access to the property.
