Heatwave causes meltdown for air con manufacturers

In addition to our heating services R A Brown also offer installation of domestic air to air or air conditioning systems. With soaring temperatures seemingly becoming the norm we have seen a significant increase in enquiries over the last few months.

Frustratingly with installations arranged we are experiencing severe supply issues. These problems are industry wide and not limited to one manufacturer. Most units are manufactured overseas giving UK suppliers little leverage to increase the output, of course the UK is not the only country affected by the heatwave conditions.

It is always very disappointing for us as an independent company, that prides itself on delivering a high level of customer service, when we cannot meet our customers’ needs.

The only advice we can offer to customers already in our pipeline or others considering an installation is that we will book all of the installations as quickly as we can when units become available. Realistically the equipment will be installed over the autumn and winter period and be ready to cool you next Spring and Summer.

There is going to be a £2500 BUS grant available for whole house air to air systems, uptake is likely to be limited. Replacing your current heating system with air to air is most suitable for very small properties – such as holiday lodges and bungalows. MCS are busy writing the scheme standards at the moment which means the grant will not be available for some time. It is yet to be seen how many installers will register to offer this service.

If you are interested in getting air conditioning installed in your property, get in touch on 01603 898904, we are still surveying and ordering units despite the delays and will be installing all year round, to ensure everyone stays cool next year.
