31/03/20 Update from BEIS to the Construction Industry
On 31st March 2020 the Secretary of State, Rt Hon. Alok Sharma MP laid out some further guidance for all those working in the UK’s construction sector. Giving clarity on how our sector can continue to work to support our country and economic needs.
The Government has advised that wherever possible, people should work at home. However, for many people working in construction, their job requires them to travel to their place of work, and they can continue to do so. This is consistent with the Chief Medical Officer’s advice.
To help ensure that it is safe for construction workers to operate in their workplace, the industry has worked to develop Site Operating Procedures (SOP), which have been published by the Construction Leadership Council. These procedures align with the latest guidance from Public Health England, these Site Operating Procedures, will continue to be updated in line with any health guidance updates.
This means that R A Brown will be looking to resume work in the next couple of weeks, ensuring our operating procedures follow the Site Operating Procedures to ensure safety for our employees and members of the public.
